The Wetaskiwin and District Football Association (WDAFA) was first formed in August of 2002. Beginning as a Bantam-level program, it has since expanded to a PeeWee-level program, and this year, an Atom-level program. It includes teams for three age groups: Atom (ages 8-10); PeeWee (ages 11-12); and Bantam (ages 13-15). Regular season: All teams are up and running for the season. Please see the calandar for more details on practices, games, etc. or contact the team managers for more information. We are still actively recruiting players throughout the season. Annual Spaghetti Eating Contest: Mark your calendars! Our very popular fundraiser is scheduled for October 10th this year and we have some fun suprises in store! If you are interested in assisting with the event or recruiting a team for the event, please contact Blain Fuller at 780-352-3692 for more information. Press Boxes: Opportunities available for each team home game during the season to rent the middle section of our tower. For a $200 min. donation, you can have as many friends as you like with hot and cold eats, drinks and special attention from our WDAFA crew. If you'd like more information on doing this, please contact Laurel at 780-352-6035. We'd be happy to cater to your event and make the game a special one for you. Great view! Casino: WDAFA has a casino coming up in Red Deer October 10 & 11th and we are looking for volunteers to work all positions at all times. If you are available, please contact Laurel for more information 780-352-6035. Details will be coming via email to players. Football Day in Wetaskiwin: September 18th is our official day. This has been an annual event now for a few years where we have all 3 of our WDAFA teams and the high school Sabres playing the same day. It's a day jam packed with football and celebrations of fall. This year the schedule is as follows: Wolverines @ 1000, Wildcats @ 1230, Warriors @ 1500, Sabers @ 1900. We will be looking for help with various volunteer jobs throughout the day and try to get volunteers during games your child is not playing so you can be free to watch the game. Please stay tuned and ask your team manager details. Team Pictures: Team pictures will be happening during football day September 18th. Please be ready and dressed at the back of the hogbarn at the following times: Atoms: 0900, PeeWees: 0930, Bantams: 1000. You will also be able to cheer on the other teams during the day! Alternate days in case of rainout will be Sept 22 for Peewee/Bantam and Sept 23 for Atom before practice. Each player will recieve an individual and team picture as a part of their fees. Extra pictures, trading cards, etc., can be purchased from Jasper's studio and information will be available during picture day. Team Clothing: Another order will be going in September 10th for WDAFA gear. Information and order forms available in the hogbarn. Contact your manager or Laurel for more information 780-352-6035.
